DTT Development Test Tool

DTT is a tool developed to accelerate development time and increase confidence levels when submitting a device for certification.

It allows developers to understand in detail all the test scripts.

Technical details

The DTT is a software that implements the Abstract Test Cases (ATSs) as Executable Test Suites (ETSs). They run on a PC under 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 (from DTT 3.0V108) and offer similar functionalities to the CTT, but in much greater depth. The DTT acts as a DLMS/COSEM test client whereas the Device Under Test (DUT) acts as a DLMS/COSEM server. The DTT allows the selection, parametrization and execution of the Test Scripts using the information taken from the Conformance Test Information (CTI) file and the information obtained by the DTT from the DUT.

Each license can be registered on three devices.

CTT Certification Test Tool

CTT should be used when a DLMS UA Member wants to complete the DLMS UA Qualification Program.

It has been developed with the intent to allow members and/or labs to perform tests.

Technical details

The CTT is a software that implements the Abstract Test Cases (ATSs) as Executable Test Suites (ETSs). It runs on a PC under 64 bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 (from CTT 3.0 V108). The CTT acts as a DLMS/COSEM test client whereas the Implementation Under Test (IUT) acts as a DLMS/COSEM server. The CTT allows the selection, parametrization and execution of the ETSs using the information taken from the Conformance Test Information (CTI) file and the information obtained by the CTT from the IUT. The CTT supports the DLMS/COSEM 3-layer, connection-oriented HDLC based communication profile and the TCP/IP based communication profile.

Each license can be registered on three devices.

All devices must be tested in their native communication technology when applying for DLMS UA Product Qualification Certificate for compliance. For the most relevant communication technologies, DLMS UA imposes the use of accredited communication devices for testing purposes.

There are three ways for members of the DLMS UA to access the test tool.

Purchase a Perpetual License
and "Software-as-a-Service" updates & upgrades
Subscription License
Members must possess or purchase (new members) a perpetual license of the latest version of the Test Tool in order to opt for a SaaS Subscription License. Members in possession of an older version of the Test Tool must update or upgrade to the most recent version before applying for the SaaS subscription license.
This is the most advantageous way of using the test tool and is the solution recommended by DLMS UA as it offers an ‘All Inclusive’ version of the test tool.
Members have ongoing access to all upgrades and updates via this annual ‘subscription’ fee, as soon as they become available. Free email support is also included as part of this license model.

and "One Time Purchase" update and/or upgrade

The second option to use the test tool is to opt for a “One Time Purchase” of the Test Tool and additionally for each update and/or upgrade.
This can be an expensive option, particularly if members envision certifying several products or product versions. To avoid purchasing additional updates and upgrades, we highly recommend members to opt for the subscription-based license.

The final option to access the test tool is to sub-license the use of the test tool from a DLMS UA Member in Good Standing with a valid test tool license or from a DLMS UA Accredited Test Laboratory.
The test tool can be accessed via a one-off, 30-day sub-license fee of €3’000, payable by the licensee to DLMS UA Test Tool distributor, in addition to the costs for DLMS UA Qualification process.
This option can be used if a Member only envisions certifying a very limited number of products.

The latest version of the test tool to be used for compliance testing, is the CTT/DTT4.3.

All test reports submitted before July 24th 2023 should use the CTT4.2. From July 25th 2023, only test reports using the CTT4.3 will be accepted.
