Exclusive Sessions at Distributech 2026 – Beyond Interoperability: How Standards Enable True Device Exchangeability

We’re excited to participate at DTECH 2026 in San Diego, taking place February 3–5, 2026.

We will be hosting two exclusive 45-minute sessions at our booth, #5533, focused on how standardization is helping the industry move beyond basic interoperability toward true in-field device exchangeability.

We’re delighted to have Michael Stuber from Southern California Edison and Paul Orr from NEMA speaking at the booth and sharing their perspectives with attendees.

  • Tuesday, February 3rd at 2:00 PM
  • Wednesday, February 4th at 2:00 PM

The presentation will bring together utility-driven insights and an industry perspective exploring how standardization enables true device exchangeability in the field, with a particular focus on:

  • The standardization of the DLMS data model and use cases;
  • The role of logical device standardization and certification;
  • The North American Annex for the AC Electricity Smart Meter GCP, addressing regional requirements while maintaining alignment with the global DLMS standard;
  • How these efforts, taken together, enable utilities to deploy and replace devices with greater flexibility and confidence.

Together, these perspectives will highlight the technical, operational, and standards-based foundations required to reduce integration complexity, accelerate deployment, and unlock long-term value across the grid ecosystem.
