What communication media are supported?
At this time the protocol stack defined in the Green book allows to use DLMS/COSEM through direct connection via an optical or electrical port, via switched or leased telephone lines and over the GSM network.
As the COSEM application layer is completely separated from the lower layers, it is easy to define other protocol stacks, based on OSI or not, to support other communication media. This will be done as market requirements justify.
