Application Association

DLMS Helpline (12/01/2012 02:36):
Dear Ukesh,

An Application Association is always between a certain clint and a certain server which is a logical device.

They are identified by their SAPs. In the 3-layer HDLC profile, these addresses are HDLC addresses: one byty for the client and one or two byte upper HDLC addres for the server.

In the case of the TCP-UDP/IP profile the SAPs are carried by the wrapper layer. So inverstigating these addresses it can be always determined which is the current association.

Indded, in the Association LN class, there is an associated partners attribute, which can be read if needed. In the Associaiton SN class there is no such attribute.

I hope that this helps,

best regards

Gyozo

Hi,

As per my understanding, each AA is identified by Client-Address & Server-Address (or) device-address.

When accessing meter using LN referencing, Association View can be identified using 'associated_partners_id' in Association LN class.

How to identify the Association View by Device-Address method?
And how to identify the Association View when referencing using SN, since there is no attribute like 'associated_partners_id' in LN ?

Thanks in Advance...

Thanks & Regards,
Ukesh Kumar.V
