NEMA & DLMS UA Join Forces to Enhance Data Exchange Standardization in the United States

DLMS UA, a globally recognized organization focused on promoting interoperability and standardization in the field of energy and water metering and data exchange, is pleased to announce the signing of a landmark liaison agreement with The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA).. This partnership marks a pivotal moment in advancing the adoption of the DLMS UA protocol in the United States and underscores DLMS UA’s commitment to fostering efficient and reliable energy management systems.

DLMS UA is renowned for its dedication to establishing open, international standards for utility meter data exchange. These standards enable seamless data exchange between different devices and systems, thereby promoting efficiency and reducing costs for utilities and end-users. Through its partnership with NEMA, DLMS UA aims to expand its reach and influence in the U.S. energy landscape.

NEMA’s expertise in electrical manufacturing and its commitment to promoting safety and efficiency make it the ideal partner for DLMS UA to lead and drive the standardization efforts in the United States. This established collaboration between DLMS UA and NEMA’s Data Communication Protocols subcommittee (C12 SC17) combined with NEMA’s position as an accredited standardization body by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) via its NEMA C12 Consensus body uniquely position the association for this endeavor.
