99-4 The Management Committee is elected!

The General Meeting at DA/DSM in Madrid

Following the tradition the General Meeting of the DLMS UA was held at DA/DSM, this year in Madrid on 29 September. The event marked a good continuation of the User Association, and also an increased management attention. This was manifested by the elections, which resulted in an enlargement of the Management Committee by 50 %, 6 instead of 4 members! Utilities, system providers and meter manufacturers are now represented.

The new Management Committee is: Mr. Karl-Heinz Paasch, Deutsche Zählergesellschaft - Ms Eleonora Bettenzoli, Schlumberger RMS - Mr. Jean-Olivier Martin, Electricité de France DRD - Mr. Ralf Hoffmann, Görlitz Computerbau - Mr. Thomas Schaub, Siemens Metering - and Mr. Touko Salo, Enermet Finland. As a matter of fact, these six persons represent the most active member companies of the DLMS User Association.

Booth #522 at Distributec DA/DSM Madrid and booth #7F05-6 at INTERKAMA Düsseldorf (see picture):

After having presented a booth at MATES '99 in May 1999, the DLMS User Association again was present with a booth at DA/DSM Madrid in September and at INTERKAMA Düsseldorf in October 1999. In Madrid, the new brochure was available for the first time (in five languages!) and the booth reflected the new visual identity. In Düsseldorf, the same visual messages were used once again, but in addition to that, a functioning DLMS system was shown. It was even possible to read a meter in hall 10, in addition to the meters at the DLMS UA booth in hall 7.

Many lively discussions took place at the booth. Questions went from "can you tell me what DLMS is ?" to "how can I become a member of the association ?". The most important advice given was "make it happen !", which of course motivates us to work hard in order to see a widespread use of DLMS in a very near future.
