DLMS - Organization - Working Groups "Application and Implementation"
 

The major job of the WG is to consolidate and manage the knowledge of DLMS meter protocol in combination with all upcoming applications of AMR for the real and live usage. This means in general the successful integration of the protocol into a whole system concept of AMR for the utilities for the most benefit.

Operational tasks: The task of the Working Group Application and Implementation is to push DLMS into the meter market by providing services to members on all questions related to implementation of DLMS for Servers or Clients.

In detail the objectives shall be:

  • Consolidate a database of available server and Client implementations
  • Support implementers on the existing standardized definitions
  • Collect and harmonize any new requests for definitions and channel them to the WG Maintenance
  • Keep close contact to other organisations, working in cooperation or affinity
  • Keep close contact to the potential customer base, mainly utilities and survey the success of DLMS in use
  • Keep the conformance test tool requirements in accordance with the evolving specifications and channel them to the WG Maintenance
  • Monitor and supervise the usage of the Conformance test tool for third party testing
  • Declare, issue and monitor the usage of DLMS-Compliance marks for Servers and Clients
  • Perform marketing actions to push DLMS by controlled publications in several markets
  • Support DLMS activites in identified markets by providing exhibition and conference support

This task shall be performed by:

  • analysis and response to any member’s requests for support or clarification of exisiting specifications and definitions
  • analysis of new proposals for specification and definitions, collecting comments of the users for those topics
  • monitoring and, if needed, support for other initiatives, working groups or organisations, which work out specific aplications based on DLMS-COSEM.
  • monitoring of the appearance of compliance marking and verifying against conformance test results
